Over the past two to three years, there have been a few films that have brought STEM into the mainstream. Two of these films featured predominantly black casts and women in strong lead roles. Is art beginning to imitate life? Dr. Erin White uses two blockbuster films, Hidden Figures and Marvel Comics Blank Panther to discuss the power of storytelling and the role of leadership; specifically, at HBCUs as a means to broaden participation in STEM.
